Youth killed in Seer Hamdan in Anantnag; toll 75
A 20-year-old youth was killed after government forces fired pellets to break up a demonstration in Seer Hamdan village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Naseer Ahmad, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat.
Doctors at SDH Seer Hamdan said that Ahmad was brought dead to the hospital with multiple pellet injuries.
Over 50 people have been injured in the forces’ action on people protesting against the high-handedness of the forces who residents said had barged into their homes and thrashed inmates.
A woman, identified as Jameela, wife of Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh, was critically injured in the forces’ action in which over 50 others were injured.
Doctors at District Hospital Anantnag where she was brought from Seer Hamdan said that she has been hit on her head.
