Babar Azam Breaks Another Virat Kohli Record After Century Against Sri Lanka.

Babar Azam continued his dream run with the bat after notching up his 7th Test century in the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka.

In doing so, Babar became fastest batter from Asia to get 10,000 runs in international cricket, going past the previous record set by India batter Virat Kohli who achieved the feat in 232 innings.

Amongst all Pakistan batters to reach the 10,000 runs mark in international cricket, Babar is the fastest to reach the landmark in 228 innings, surpassing the previous record of 248 innings held by legendary batter Javed Miandad.

As per innings taken to reach 10,000 runs in international cricket, Babar is fifth fastest batter to reach the mark in 228 innings after Viv Richards (206 innings), Hashim Amla (217 innings), Brian Lara (220 innings) and Joe Root (222 innings).

In the ongoing Test match Sri Lanka were all-out for 222 in the first innings. Pakistan then found themselves at 104-7, before Babar Azam steadied the ship and scored a memorable hundred to rescue his side.

Sri Lanka’s spin spearhead, Prabath Jayasuriya did most of the damage picking up 5 wickets as Pakistan were all-out for 218.

In their 2nd innings so far the hosts are in a formidable position with 123/2 and a lead of 127 runs.

With only the third day of play underway the Test Match is sure to spring up many twists and turns before moving to the conclusion.
