COVID Cases Keep Declining In J&K.

In what will come as a sigh of relief to everyone daily coronavirus cases are on the decline in Jammu and Kashmir as on Friday 1429 people tested positive for the virus, lowest in the last 24 days.

According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 822 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus on Friday while the remaining 607 were detected in various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 443891.

In the Kashmir Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 266 new cases of Coronavirus, Baramulla 108, Kulgam 96, Budgam 86, Anantnag 64, Kupwara 55, Bandipora 47, Ganderbal 45, Pulwama 34 and Shopian 21.

In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 228 new cases of virus, Doda 135, Kathua 60, Udhampur 53, Kishtwar 47, Ramban 26, Reasi 23, Poonch 19, Rajouri 12 and Samba 4.

“Moreover, 4057 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 1437 from Jammu Division and2620 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.

Also, they said that three more people, two from the Valley and one from Jammu, died of Covid-19 related complications on Friday, taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4702 in J&K—2300 in Jammu and 2402 in Kashmir Valley.

The officials also said that no new cases of mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
