Daily surge in COVID positive has led to Jammu and Kashmir administration declaring 366 areas of the valley as containment zones.
According to the official data, the highest number of containment zones have been declared in Srinagar district. 190 areas of Srinagar are declared containment zones due to rise in positive cases. Srinagar has 1460 positive cases in the Kashmir division.
In Budgam, 70 areas have been declared containment zones. The district has over 343 active positive cases till Jan 11.
Baramulla and Ganderbal districts in Kashmir have 38 each containment zones. 11 areas in Bandipora have been declared as containment zones. Pulwama has 7 and Kupwara has six containment zones.

Kulgam has three containment zones, Shopian has two and Anantnag has only one containment zone.
On Tuesday, five cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus were confirmed in Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir reported 1,695 fresh cases of COVID19 on Wednesday. 812 cases have been reported from Jammu Division and 883 from Kashmir Division.Srinagar reported 320, Baramulla 250, Budgam 116, Pulwama reported 30 cases, Kupwara 52, Anantnag 40, Bandipora 36, Ganderbal 18 and Kulgam 20.
