India vs Australia first ODI:

Team India is back in ODI action as they face Australia at Perth. The hosts won the toss and put India into bat.

The Men in Blue lost Rohit Sharma for just 8 runs while captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for 10 runs. Virat Kohli fell to Mitchell Starc for a duck in his comeback ODI match.

With India 3 wickets down, rain interuppted play. The match was then reduced to 26 overs. On resumption Axar Patel and KL Rahul strung a partnership together.

Patel made 31 of 38 balls while Rahul was dismissed after scoring 38 of 31 balls.

Washington Sundar made 10 of 10 balls and a late onslaught by Nitish Kumar Reddy took India to 136 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 26 overs.

For Australia, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Owen and Matthew Kuhnemann took two wickets each.

 

India will play 3 ODIs against Australia followed by 5 T20Is.

  • October 19, Sunday: Australia vs India 1st match – 9:00 AM
  • October 23, Thursday: Australia vs India 2nd match – 9:00 AM
  • October 25, Saturday: Australia vs India 3rd match – 9:00 AM
