From Mr. Kashmir To MuscleMania :Umer Rashid

Umer Rashid is a body builder from Kashmir who has won the Musclemania India title in 2020 and the Musclemania Heavyweight title in 2017. Umer has also held the Mr. Kashmir title winning the competition in 2017.

From a skinny 16 -year old teenager to win the biggest body building competition, Umer’s story is one of pure hard work and sweat. Beginning bodybuilding at the age of 16, the only purpose of this young boy was to build up a good looking physique.

Having achieved his initial goal, Umer, after receiving much appreciation from trainers, began seriously pursuing bodybuilding as a career. He took to being fit and building a body that would eventually help him compete and win championships at various levels.

Competing in Kashmir, Umer won the Mr. Kashmir title in 2017 which was to be a stepping stone for further success. The body builder now began preparing for competition at the highest level and readied himself for Musclemania India.

Stepping from Mr. Kashmir to Musclemania India was a tough challenge but Umer was determined to achieve his goal. Selected for Musclemania 2017 Heavweight competition, he would clinch the title after an impressive showing.

Three years later Umer would return to the competition, this time going for the overall Musclemania title. After months of hard work and putting his body through the most painful routine, it would all bear fruit for him as he would win the Musclemania 2020 Championship.

Apart from bodybuilding, Umer stresses that everyone should try and stay fit. He says one needs to understand the difference between bodybuilding and fitness. Even though he has been a successful bodybuilder himself, he says that going into extreme levels body building is not healthy and should be avoided.

For young trainees, Umer says simple and easy beginnings are the way to go and following a strict routine. In his opinion everyone should take this step by step and not jump into crazed bodybuilding straightaway.

He advises youngsters to carefully choose their fitness or bodybuilding trainer and go for those who professionally certified. He also suggest not to be swayed by videos of online bodybuilding as they can be misleading at times.

For Umer, his journey continues next as prepares Musclemania Pro Debut and then he has his eyes and physique set on participating in Musclemania Asia competition.

His Instagram handle goes by the name @umerworld, and if continues on the same path and accomplishes more, the world could be Umer’s oyster.
