After his arrest, protests broke out in Hyderpora. However, the protesters dispersed off peacefully.
Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani was arrested after he stepped outside his Hyderpora residence to march towards BB Cantonment as part of joint resistance programme.
Before he was arrested, Geelani read out the letter, he was supposed to present to army leadership in Kashmir at the BB Cantonment.
