An encounter broke out on Monday between government forces and militants in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.
An official said that militants fired on a search party in Silgam area of Aishmuqam today afternoon, following which the forces retaliated, triggering an encounter.
There was no immediate report of any casualties on either side.
