A massive hailstorm damaged orchards and standing crops as weather wreaked havoc at several places in multiple districts of Kashmir on Thursday.
Several residential houses suffered damage in the flash floods due to a cloudburst at Rafiabad in Baramulla district, reports and officials said.
Reports said that massive spells of hailstorm were witnessed at Haril, Mawar, Sanzipora, Qalamabad, Harvet, Ashpora Budbugh, Daribal Baala, Daribal Payeen, Shiekhpora, Terina, Audoora and several other adjacent villages in Kupwara district.

The hailstorm coupled with torrential rains wrecked havoc to apple orchards and other standing crops.
Similar reports were received in neighboring Baramulla district where the weather fury caused widespread damage to orchards and vegetation. The villages which however faced the maximum brunt included Noorkhah Boniyar and Gulmarg.
Reports of hailstorms were also received from several places, including Garoora and Chatti Bandi, in Bandipora district.
A rooftop of several residential houses was damaged on Thursday due to gusty winds in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Gusty winds coupled with rainfall damaged the rooftop of residential houses in many areas including Chinnar, Preng, Lari Preng area of Ganderbal district.
An official told a local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the rooftop of some residential buildings and tin sheds got damaged due to rainfall and strong winds in Kangan Subdivision.
