Sanjeev Khirwar, the IAS officer who allegedly cleared a Delhi stadium to walk his dog, has been transferred to Ladakh after outrage over his actions.

His wife, Rinku Dugga, also a bureaucrat, has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) order came hours after media reports of the Indian Administrative Services’ officer vacating Delhi’s Thyagraj stadium so that he could walk his dog.

India Today has exclusively learnt that the MHA had sought a report from Delhi’s Chief Secretary on the news report regarding the misuse of facilities at Thyagraj Stadium by Sanjeev Khirwar and his wife Rinku Dugga.

The Chief Secretary submitted a report later in the evening on the factual position of MHA.

“In the meanwhile, Sanjeev Khirwar has been transferred by MHA to Ladakh and Rinku Dhugga to Arunachal Pradesh. Necessary action will be initiated based on the report,” sources told India Today.

Athletes and coaches training at the stadium were asked to wrap up training by 7 pm, earlier than usual.

However, the stadium administrator, Ajit Chaudhary, denied the allegations made by the athletes. The official time for athletes to train is till 7 pm, and after that, the coaches and athletes leave, he said.
