Islamia College Srinagar To Remain Closed Till Dec 11 After Some Staff Members Test Covid-19 Positive

Islamia College Of Science and Commerce here on Tuesday ordered closure of the institution till December 11 for all kinds of activities after some staff members tested positive for covid-19

In view of “surge” in Covid-19 cases, the college had arranged testing of staff members and students starting from today in a phased manner, According to institution’s Principal Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir.

“On the first day of testing, some staff members tested positive,” he said as per an order, a copy of which lies with GNS. “To avoid any further surge in cases, it is hereby ordered that College will remain closed upto Saturday the 11th of December, 2021 for all kind of activities,” the order by him reads, adding “On re-opening of College on 13-12-2021 the students will attend the classes as per the timetable already notified.”

Further, he said, during the closure of the College faculty members will conduct the classes in online mode through College LMS as per timetable in vogue.

“Furthermore, all staff members shall report on 10th of Dec, 2021 in the College for an RTPCR test without fail,” he said, adding, “Students will also visit nearest Health Centre and get their RTPCR test done on 10th of December.” (GNS)
