J&K Territorial Army Recruitment Rally 2025: Check Full Schedule and Eligibility

The 159 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) Dogra has announced a recruitment rally for Soldier (General Duty) posts in Jammu and Kashmir. The rally will be conducted at Chinchora, Doda, from December 7 to December 18, 2025.

Eligible male candidates from J&K are invited to participate in the open rally to join the Territorial Army (TA). Interested candidates must report at the venue by 7:00 AM for document verification and screening. Entry gates will close strictly at 9:00 AM.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 42 years as on the date of recruitment.

Educational Qualification

  • Must have passed Class 10th / Matric with 45% aggregate marks and 33% in each subject.
  • For boards following the grading system: a minimum of D Grade (33–40%) in individual subjects or C2 Grade overall (equivalent to 45%) is required.

Tattoos

Candidates with visible tattoos in physical training dress will not be eligible.

Domicile

Candidates must possess a valid domicile certificate of the concerned area.


Physical Standards

  • Height: 160 cm
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age (as per Army Medical Standard)
  • Chest: 82 cm (77 cm unexpanded)

Physical Fitness Test

The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will include:

  • 1 Mile Run
  • Pull-Ups
  • Zig-Zag Balance
  • 9 Feet Ditch Jump

Medical Inspection

Candidates clearing the physical test will undergo medical examination at the venue. Only medically fit candidates will proceed to the next stage.


Written Examination

Candidates who qualify in physical and medical tests will appear for a written exam conducted in English and Hindi.

Marking Scheme

  • Correct Answer: +2 marks
  • Incorrect Answer: -1 mark
  • Unattempted Question: 0 mark

Screening / Aptitude Test

An aptitude test will be conducted separately for candidates applying for Soldier General Duty.

Candidates must carry original documents and photocopies along with 20 passport-size colour photographs (white background).

  • Caste/Tribe/Community Certificate
  • Religion Certificate
  • Character Certificate
  • Marital Status Certificate
  • Relationship Certificate (if applicable)
  • Sports Certificates (if any)
  • PAN Card & AADHAR Card

Important Notes

  • Detailed instructions are available in Employment News (1 November 2025 edition).
  • The Territorial Army is a voluntary, part-time force — not a permanent job.
  • Initial enrolment is for 7 years, extendable based on performance.
  • The Army will not be responsible for any injury or accident during the rally.
  • A drug test will be conducted for candidates qualifying for the written exam.
