Ulfat Rafiq is a vlogger from Baramulla, Kashmir who has grown to become one of valley’s fastest growing vloggers all the while wearing a Hijab, donning a face mask and producing modest content which people have warmed up to.
Having began only recently Ulfat’s YouTube channel has received overwhelming support as she reached one thousand subscribers within a week of her first vlog.
Since then this young vlogger from Baramulla who recently completed her diploma in civil engineering has gone from strength to strength. She has come with various aspects of vlogging and covered her daily routine around the valley.
Her decision to begin vlogging didn’t come entirely from herself. While studying for civil engineering diploma and having a good knowledge about AUTOCAD her teachers encouraged her to begin a YouTube channel to educate others.
As it was the peak of the pandemic wave and most institutions were shut, Ulfat gave this idea a thought and recorded her first video while wearing a Hijab and having a face mask.
The immediate response took her by surprise and she was then pushed by her teachers to further pursue vlogging as she seemed comfortable in her space. It was also the lack of female vloggers in Kashmir that motivated her to continue this new found hobby.
Ulfat has showcased many places, her daily routines and covered other aspects of Kashmir as well in her vlogging. She says she was skeptical of the response she would receive in Kashmir but to her amazement, people have not only encouraged her but also helped her in becoming an accomplished vlogger.
The biggest aspect of Ulfat’s vlogging is her modest content, where she travels from place to place while maintaining a decency and charm in her content. This she says as inspired other girls to take up vlogging as many of them have contacted her thanking for showing a way to achieve one’s goal without being disrespectful of the society we live in.
For the vlogger it was all about presenting quality content and ensuring that a level of etiquette is held which she has been able to achieve seamlessly and one can only see her becoming one of Kashmir’s biggest vloggers in the time to come.
Ulfat Rafiq, identified as the Hijab vlogger of Kashmir has shown that if you put your best efforts forward and do what comes naturally were few things can hinder you and it is with this strength that she has been an inspiration to other girls all around Kashmir.
