The Health and Medical Education department has re-constituted complaint committee meant to prevent sexual harassment of women employees at workplaces.
Prof Samia Rashid, Principal GMC Srinagar as the chairperson of the committee.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to re-constitution of the Complaint Committee to register and enquire into and dispose off complaints, if any, of sexual harassment against women employees of H&ME Department and its sub-ordinate offices,” reads an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to Government, Health & Medical Education Department.

The order stated that Prof Samia Rashid, Principal GMC Srinagar will be the chairperson of the committee, while Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Lotika Khajuria, Controller Drug & Food Control Organization J&K will be the members and any other member co-opted by the chairperson.
It stated that the committee has to submit its report on each complaint received by it regarding sexual harassment against women employees of the department.
It added that the committee will have to file quarterly and annual reports about the total number of complaints received enquired by and action taken on the same.
