PSL 7: Two time champions Islamabad United got off to a fiery start as Paul Stirling and Alex Hales ran riot to beat Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday.
Peshawar came out to bat first and struggled with disciplined bowling and poor shot making leaving them four wickets with just 35 runs on the board.
Sherfane Rutherford then joined forces with Shoaib Malik to repair the damage. The two batters added 73 for the fifth wicket to give Zalmi a respectable position.
After Malik fell Rutheford continued his charge, scoring an unbeaten 70 to take his side to 168/6 in 20 overs.

In response Paul Stirling and Alex Hales just ran riot. Hales came up with a flurry of boundary and Stirling began clearing the fence as United made the target look meagre.
Stirling scored a 18-ball half century, with Hales 82 not out of 54 balls, as Islamabad breezed through the chase.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz came and gave Peshawar no opening whatsoever and polished off the chase with 25 balls to spare.
