The Jammu and Kashmir police has issued summons to two Kashmiri journalists based in Srinagar, Fahad Shah and Majid Hyderi, on Monday in connection with a case registered following an encounter in Pulwama, wherein the forces had claimed that four militants had been killed. Apparently, the two have been summoned for “incorrect reporting,” as per a local news agency.
Reportedly, FIR (18/2022) under section 307 IPCV, 7/25 IA Act, and sections 16, 18,20,38 ULA(P) A has been registered in police station Pulwama in this regard.
A summon issued by the concerned SHO, under section 160 CrPC, calls upon both the journalists to appear before him at 11 a.m. today.

“It appears that you are acquainted with the circumstances of FIR and your presence is necessary to give such information as you may possess relating to FIR for the finalization of the investigation and arrest of the accused person,” reads the summon.
It is pertinent to mention that Inayat Ahmad (17), who was among the four slain in the Pulwama encounter, was referred to as a ‘Hybrid’ militant by the police, whereas the family had rejected police’s claims and said that he was an innocent civilian, who was picked up from his home along with his brother and that the brother still remains in custody.
Fahad’s Magazine- Kashmir walla had reported the family version along with that of the police.
