The residents of Sonawar and its adjoining localities on Saturday threatened to hit the streets if the government forces were not asked to leave from a ground of a State-run school which was used by the local boys for recreational purposes.
They feared that the presence of forces, which have made the ground a “base camp”, might lead to possible confrontation.

“We have only this ground for our boys to play, but the forces have made it a base camp by deploying hundreds of personnel there. Where will they play now?” they said.
They said that the camping for forces in the school has added to their insecurity besides they (forces) don’t allow anyone to play there.

“We have apprehensions that the youth of our locality will go there and end up in an ugly tussle with the forces,” feared an elderly man.
