The upper reaches of Kashmir, including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Gurez valley on Tuesday received a fresh spell of snowfall, while the plains witnessed rains from late afternoon.

During the day, various parts of Kashmir witnessed gusty winds as well.

The Meteorological Department (MeT) had on Monday predicted a forecast of a brief spell of rain and light snowfall over the higher reaches between November 4 and 5.

The MeT also issued an advisory in view of the expected thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at a few places on Tuesday evening.

There was a significant drop in the temperature with the fresh spell of snowfall in the higher reaches and rains in the plains, coupled with gusty winds at various locations.
