Srinagar Wins ‘Best City Leader of the Year Award’ At Smart Cities India Expo.

Srinagar Smart City Ltd. on Friday won the ‘Best City Leader of the Year Award’ at the Smart Cities India Awards 2022, announced in New Delhi at the 7th Smart Cities Expo. 

Lieutenant Governor Monoj Sinha has congratulated the smart city team on winning this award.

Taking the microblogging site Twitter, he wrote, “Congratulations @sclsrinagar for bagging the ‘Best City Leader of the Year Award’ at Smart Cities India expo. This award is a testimony of our commitment to bring qualitative improvement in the lives of the citizens & prepare our cities to act as engines of growth.” 

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, India Smart Cities Awards Contest, an annual competition among 100 smart cities, was launched in the year 2018 to reward innovative ideas and projects being implemented by them. 

Commissioner SMC, who is also the chairman of Srinagar Smart, said, “It’s a great encouragement to the whole team.” In the past few months, the whole team has been working day and night planning, designing, and putting projects to execution. Srinagar Smart City has taken up the largest number and volume of projects for execution this year. 

He stated that this is for and on behalf of the whole Srinagar Smart City team, which has conceptualised, planned and put into execution the largest number and volume of projects this year.
