CBSE Board Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding exam ethics for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2025. The exams will begin on February 15, 2025, and cover 204 subjects, with over 44 lakh studentsexpected to appear.

In a letter sent to school principals, heads, and center superintendents, CBSE emphasized the importance of students following exam rules and ethics to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.

Key Instructions for Schools

The board has directed schools to:

  1. Educate students on the guidelines and penalties for unfair means (UFM).
  2. Brief students and parents about exam ethics and the consequences of violating the rules.
  3. Inform students not to spread or believe rumors that could disrupt the examination process.
  4. Remind students to avoid carrying banned items to the exam center.
  5. Provide proper training to all deployed exam officials.

CBSE has warned that any student found with banned items, such as electronic devices, or spreading exam-related rumors, could face severe penalties, including cancellation of their current and next year’s exams.

CBSE Board Exam 2025: Allowed and Banned Items

Items Allowed:

  • Admit card and school identity card (for regular students).
  • Admit card and government-issued photo ID (for private students).
  • Stationery items: Transparent pouch, geometry/pencil box, blue/royal blue ink pen, scale, writing pad, and eraser.
  • Analogue watches and transparent water bottles.
  • Metro card, bus pass, and money.

Items Banned:

  • Stationery items: Textual material (printed or written), calculators, pen drives, log tables (will be provided by centers), electronic pens, and scanners.
  • Communication devices: Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, smartwatches, health bands, etc.
  • Other items: Wallets, goggles, handbags, pouches, or any items that could aid in unfair means.
  • Food items: Any edible items, except for diabetic students.

Dress Code

  • Regular students: Must wear their school uniform.
  • Private students: Should wear light-colored clothes.

CBSE Penalty for Unfair Means

CBSE has also outlined various categories of unfair means and the penalties associated with them. Students are advised to strictly follow the rules and avoid any actions that could jeopardize their exams.
