At least 70 persons sustained injuries when government forces resorted to teargas shelling to disperse a protest in Behrampora area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said that massive clashes erupted between youth and paramilitary CRPF and police when the forces fired several tear-gas shells and pellets into a rally in Behrampora.
Confirming the injuries, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dangiwacha Dr Maqbool said that around 50 injured persons are being treated at the hospital while nine others were shifted to other hospitals.
