India Beat West Indies In The Final ODI To Sweep Series.

India vs West Indies: India made it three wins out three to sweep the ODI series against West Indies with a 96-run victory in the final match in Ahmedabad.

Having elected to bat first, India got off to shaky start with Rohit Sharma who was looking in touch dismissed by Alzarri Joseph and Virat Kohli fell for a duck off the same bowler.

Shikar Dhawan too failed to get going as India were 3 down in the first 10 overs. However watchful batting by Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer set the tone for the entire match.

Pant scored 56 while Iyer continued impressive recent form and notched up his half century. After Pant’s dismissal Iyer once again rebuild the innings finally departing for 80 of 111 balls.

Deepak Chahar struck four fours and two sixes during his run-a-ball 38 to push India over 250. At the end the score of 265 in 50 overs looked a decent one.

West Indies began their chase in agonizing fashion losing first 3 wickets inside the first 5 overs.

Darren Bravo and Nicholas Pooran scored 43 off 49 for the fourth wicket  to bring them back in the game, but Bravo’s wicket by Prasidh put the chase further beyond Windies.

Prasidh also got the wicket of Jason Holder in his fourth over. Kuldeep Yadav then got Fabian Allen and later Nicolas Pooran to end any chances of a West Indies rescue act as they were bundled out for 169 runs in 37.1 overs.

Brief scores:

India 265 in 50 overs (Shreyas Iyer 80, Rishabh Pant 56; Jason Holder 4-34)

West Indies 169 in 37.1 (Odean Smith 36; Prasidh Krishna 3-27, Mohammed Siraj 3-29)
