Indian Air Force evacuated 120 nationals on a flight from Kabul to Jamnagar, Gujarat this morning.
Before evacuation, negotiations were held for over 24 hours with Taliban. Eventually a breakthrough was reached as India Air Force C-17 heavy lift aircraft was allowed to rescue 120 nationals, including diplomats, officials and journalists.
The Indian aircraft took off from Hamid Karzai Airport around 8am with the help of U.S forces manning the ATC.
India is waiting for U.S forces to allow civilian flights to Kabul for further evacuation operations. This is the second batch of Indians brought home from Kabul. The first batch came on Sunday, via an Air India flight.
