India vs Ireland: India will tour Ireland for a two-match T20I series in June. This series against a relative weaker opposition will offer India a chance to test some players that didn’t get a break through in the recently concluded South Africa series.
The two matches will be played on June 26 and 28 which will act as a dress rehearsal for India’s Tour to England starting from July 1.
In a new look side, Hardik Pandya will be leading the Indian side with fresh faces waiting in line to make an impact.
The first two on the list to get that could make their debut are Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh.
The two IPL superstars did not get their chance in the tightly-contested South Africa series. But the head coach on the tour VVS Laxman is likely to test their mettle against Ireland in the 1st T20 on Sunday.
With eight white-ball matches in England, Laxman would like to avoid any injury in Ireland. Bhuvneshwar Kumar may sit out in one game despite being the vice-captain while Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan could also be rested for Umran or Arshdeep.

- Harshal Patel is set to play a crucial role and could be rested for Arshdeep.
- Avesh Khan who featured in India Playing XI for all five games is set to be benched for Umran Malik.
- As Rahul Dravid is set to go with the best XI against England, the two T20s against Ireland will be India’s only testing ground.
- Furthermore, both could play crucial roles in Australia and hence Team India management will like to test the duo.
