The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced a comprehensive inquiry into allegations of irregularities surrounding the recently declared results of the JKP Constable recruitment examination.
JKSSB Chairperson Indu Kanwal Chib confirmed the investigation, emphasizing the board’s commitment to transparency. “A dedicated team of our members has been assigned to thoroughly investigate the matter. A specific timeline has been set to ensure the inquiry is completed promptly,” she stated.
The controversy arose after candidates from the Telecommunication and Photography categories raised concerns over the fairness of the selection process. They pointed out discrepancies, alleging that some candidates who excelled in these specialized exams had underperformed in previous JKP (Executive/Armed/SDRF) recruitment papers. These claims have cast doubt on the overall credibility of the recruitment process.
Adding to the debate, PDP leader Iltija Mufti criticized the JKSSB through her social media platform, highlighting what she described as “massive discrepancies.” In a post on X, she remarked, “In the JKP Telecommunications exam, top scorers surprisingly performed poorly in earlier constable exams. The government, which once promised transparency, has conveniently avoided accountability.”
The allegations have sparked widespread concern among candidates and the public alike, compelling the JKSSB to take swift action. The board has vowed to conduct a detailed investigation to address the claims and ensure a fair recruitment process.
