The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two more people in terrorism conspiracy case in Jammu and Kashmir, following multiple raids.

A statement by the probe agency said, “NIA on Saturday arrested two more accused persons identified as Ishfaq Ahmed Wani resident of Srinagar and Umar Bhat resident of Sopore in RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI. “

The case, NIA said, “relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities by cadres of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT),  Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as The Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc.”

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused persons are terror associates/OGWs of various proscribed terrorist organisations and have been providing logistical and material support to terrorists,” the probe agency said. “Further Investigation in the case continues,” it added.

With these two arrests, the number of accused apprehended by NIA in recent raids has reached to 25.
