People’s Democratic Party (PDP) demanded Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha’s resignation after recent civilian killings in Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarter, PDP Suhail Bukhari said that the LG has lost his moral authority to continue his job in the erstwhile state following the spike in killings of the civilians in the valley.

“For the past two years, MHA is directly controlling the security situation in the valley. And look what it has led to us today,” Bukhari said as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Bukhari said, the onus lies on the Government of India and its administration for the deteriorating security situation in the valley.

“No Kashmiri is feeling safe today. The situation has worsened here, ” he said. “We demand immediate resignation of the LG.”

The PDP workers later staged a protest and tried to match towards the city center Lal Chowk.

However, police throttled their attempt and limited them within the premises of their party office—(KNO)
