Parks opening in Srinagar, what you need to know? Who is allowed to visit?

Public parks and gardens will reopen in Srinagar on weekdays as per the orders of the administration.

State Executive Committee, District Disaster Management Authority, Srinagar in a series of meetings with Department of Tourism, Department of Floriculture, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, In-Charge of all historical gardens and other stakeholders held threadbare discussions wherein it was decided that all paid, unpaid parks of district Srinagar shall be allowed to open on week days.

ONLY Vaccinated persons allowed in the parks.

According to the order the visitor should either be vaccinated or carrying a last valid negative RT-PCR of 48-hours or they will undergo a rapid test before entering into the parks.

The authorities have ordered strict compliance to Covid-19 guidelines, SOPs issued by State Executive Committee and Covid appropriate behavior. “The departments concerned shall ensure strict adherence to Covid19 appropriate behavior like wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, proper hand sanitation etc. inside the park, garden by the visitors.”

In order to avoid crowding, the visitors shall be allowed to stay in the park, garden for maximum duration of two-hours only and shall vacate the garden after expiry of allocated time. Any visitor found violating the Covid appropriate behavior shall not be allowed to stay in the park, garden further and suitable penalty shall be imposed.

To avoid congestion, the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar has also asked District Floriculture Officer and In-Charge Officials of parks and gardens to ensure availability of multiple ticket counters for registering the visitors after duly checking their vaccination certificates, negative Covid reports.

The parks will remain open on weekdays only owing to weekend curfew an order to this effect said.
