After the high of winning their first ever win against India in a World Cup, Pakistan will have another score to settle against New Zealand in their second match of the tournament.
New Zealand will be looking to get off their campaign to a perfect start against The Green Shirts, hoping to go one better than their previous World Cup.
Led by Kane Williamson, Kiwis are seen by many as pre tournament favourites and a team with a well balanced squad.
They will face a Pakistan side brimming with confidence after a historic win over India. Captain Babar Azam addressed the team in the aftermath of that win, urging his players to focus and not get carried away as the tournament has just began.
For Pakistan there is added incentive to win this match, as New Zealand pulled out of their tour to Pakistan at the last minute citing security concerns.
This angered Pakistan fans as they felt the concerns were unjustified and will be hoping that their team delivers another encouraging win, though it would be challenging against 2019 World Cup finalists.
