Babar Azam’s father, Azeem Siddique, has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make immediate arrangements for the treatment of injured woman cricketer, Bisma Amjad and utilize his son’s match for the match against India to pay medical bills.
Siddique took to the popular social media platform, Instagram, to voice his concerns for the cricketer.
Siddique said that if other arrangements cannot be made then the PCB can pay for the treatment through Babar’s match-fee that he had received for Pakistan’s match against India in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Siddique said, “[If] any individual who wears Pakistan’s star is helpless then the entire nation is helpless.” He requested PCB Chairman, Ramiz Raja, to take immediate action for the treatment of Bisma.
Last month, the woman cricketer had suffered a head injury during practice in Karachi and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
Following her treatment, the board officials, according to Geo News, had rejected to pay for her medical bills after which the woman cricketer began to weep.
Later, after the cricket board was severely pummeled on social media, the PCB issued a statement, saying that Bisma Amjad suffered a concussion during a women’s training camp at the Sindh regional academy.
Meanwhile, in a video statement, Amjad also confirmed that she had suffered a head injury during a practice session, following which the PCB officials had taken her to a private hospital.
