Two non-locals were shot at on Thursday evening in the Magraypora area of Chadoora in Budgam district.
The duo was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, the officer added.
However, one among the two non-locals who were fired upon succumbed to the injuries at a hospital in Srinagar.
