JNU Event Causes Controversy, Refers To Kashmir as ‘Indian Occupied Kashmir’

An event organised by JNU has caused controversy after the invitation referred to Kashmir as ‘Indian Occupied Kashmir’.

The event was organised by the JNU’s Centre for Women’s Studies.

The notice for the webinar mentioned – ‘gendered resistance to Indian occupation in Kashmir’. The JNU administration pulled up the centre before the event could start at 8:30 pm and called it a huge blunder. The event was later cancelled by the organisers.

“Webinar titled ‘Gendered Resistance & Fresh Challenges in Post-2019 Kashmir’ was to be organised by Centre for Women Studies. The JNU administration instructed the event to be cancelled,” ANI quoted JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar as saying.
